Man charged following investigation into historic sexual abuse offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historic sexual abuse of kids in the state’s Hawkesbury area through the Nineteen Eighties.

Detectives hooked up to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following numerous stories of alleged baby sex abuse that occurred at a vacation park in Wisemans Ferry.



Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a holiday park allegedly sexually assaulted a number of young boys.

Following intensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 baby sexual assault offences and one count of common assault.

Man charged following investigation into historical sexual abuse offences  was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear on the identical court on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries continue, police are interesting for anyone who might be able to help detectives, including anybody who holidayed within the area at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
